Mission

This “new age” of consciousness heralds international visionaries, from Eckhart Tolle to Krishnamurti, to films such as “What the Bleep do We Know?” “The Secret,” etc. Who speaks to the transgender people? Surely enlightened consciousness lies beyond sexual orientation and gender. We cannot reach enlightened consciousness as long as our egos tightly grasp onto fears around gender variance. Transgender people have inside them a kaleidoscope of insight to share with the world. The Trans Spirit mission is to teach the world how to appreciate and integrate the special wisdom of transgender folks into the human experience.

Our culture lacks any positive social or spiritual purpose for being transgender, let alone being a transgender healer, such as myself. I believe strongly that we must create a place where myself and all transgender-identified folk can share our unique wisdom and healing abilities to help our earth in crisis. This is what I have come to understand as my purpose, and yet there is no established full-time outlet for me, such as a monastery or ashram, that specifically integrates the nuances of queer sexuality or queer gender. Thus, I create my own path, now sharing it to inspire the world, while pointing to all kinds of queer people: gay people, trans people, transgenders, intersex people, and others, declaring, “You have purpose here.”

Trans Spirit is a meeting place where we gather to shine a curious flashlight into the dark, cobwebbed corners of the sacred transgender experience, inspire people of all sexualities and genders to heal their own wounds of prejudice and discover a greater spiritual purpose in what it means to be “transgender.”
